A Seven-Year Connection with GFCBW — A Meaningful Reunion with Billy in Atlanta

On January 17, 2026, we were delighted to welcome Billy back to Atlanta. During his visit, he thoughtfully arranged time to reunite with the sisters of GFCBW Atlanta, making the gathering especially meaningful.

This connection with GFCBW began as early as seven years ago. Billy first became acquainted with GFCBW through work in Taipei, where he met Ting Chiu, the Honorary President of GFCBW’s second term. Two years later, Billy was assigned to Atlanta, coincidentally during the term when Ting Chiu served as the second-term President, and Billy was also designated to support GFCBW-related affairs. This remarkable alignment marked the beginning of a deep and lasting bond.

Over the past two-plus years, under the leadership of Honorary President Ting Chiu and with Billy’s strong support, GFCBW Atlanta has actively participated in a wide range of initiatives, including advocacy motorcades supporting Taiwan’s participation in the WHA, women’s entrepreneurship forums, and charitable donation events. Together, these efforts have demonstrated GFCBW Atlanta’s commitment to local engagement, women’s empowerment, and care for the overseas Taiwanese community—allowing the southeastern United States to witness the vibrancy and creativity of the Republic of China (Taiwan) 🇹🇼.

During this visit, Billy also presented an environmentally friendly tote bag to the current President, Janice Lu. The bag was made from recycled plastic bottles through the assistance of the International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) Technical Mission in Taiwan’s diplomatic ally, Saint Kitts and Nevis. This thoughtful gift symbolized the passing on of the GFCBW spirit from one generation to the next.

We sincerely thank Billy for his continued support and encouragement of GFCBW over the years, and for taking the time to gather with our sisters despite his busy schedule.
